 | All TriPilates Classes: Come *try* Pilates to balance the body, invigorate the mind, and elevate the spirit. Mat Class:All mat classes are customized to those in attendance, so everyone is welcome. No previous experience is necessary, although it is strongly recommended to take advantage of our "Half Hour Focus Private" lesson or "Special Introductory Offer" before attending a mat class (particularly with injury, weight, pre-natal, or other concerns).
Be inspired by the challenge of a full body workout! Develop the range of motion, flexibility, and core strength to accomplish Pilates exercises. Feel what Joseph Pilates referred to as the "internal shower" in the vigorous and flowing mat series. In general, more advanced exercises add balance, rotation, and engage the ‘second powerhouse’ of the upper back and arms. There are no advanced exercises, just advanced students. Pilates exercises can be modified for all levels.
Specialty Mat Class: Some of the mat classes will include Pilates props: balls, magic circles, rollers, and light hand weights. As with the equipment, props are used to access smaller muscles, to feel the energy of Pilates. "Pilates was conceived to limber and stretch muscles and ligaments so that your body will be as supple as that of a cat.." by "developing minor muscles naturally to help to strengthen major muscles." * Check our online schedule for other specialty mat classes and workshops, including Intro to Forrest Yoga this Fall 2012.
Beginner Equipment: In addition to TriPilates’ Special Introductory Offer, learn the exercises on the Reformer, Tower System, and the Low Chair. Learn the beginning movements and safety consideration on all the equipment so that you can quickly progress to the other group equipment classes.
Group Reformer Class: Discover how the resistance of the springs and the movement of the carriage targets core muscles, increases flexibility and improves balance. Learn the full repertoire of Pilates movements on the Reformer. Experience is recommended in this flowing series. Cardio Springs class is a jump board core class with reformer stretches to unwind. | | | Group Low Chair and Tower Class: Experience a workout system designed to decompress your spine and strengthen your core. Low chair/tower classes stabilize and strengthen hips and shoulders, and imbalances. These classes are a great way to vary your workout at TriPilates, to benefit from the full Classical Pilates Method as Joe Pilates intended. Experience is recommended. Private Lessons: A private lesson is a one-hour, one-on-one workout with a PMA Pilates Certified Teacher. New clients often begin this way to ensure they understand the principles and concepts set forth by Joseph Pilates. Private training moves you through the repertoire based on your needs with a focus on your personal goals. Special Introductory Offer: buy 2 private lessons, get the 3rd one FREE. 1/2 Hour Focus Private Lesson: Learn the basics in a private environment, or review your next challenge. Assess your goals, learn modifications and safety precautions to ensure readiness for your Pilates journey. 1/2 Hour Focus Private Lessons are strongly suggested for anyone new to the studio. “If you will faithfully perform your <Pilates> exercises…..you will find your body development approaching the ideal, accompanied by renewed mental vigor and spiritual enhancement.” pp. 18-19, Return to Life Through Contrology by Joseph Pilates * Pilates, Joseph H., Return to Life through Contrology, Pilates Method Alliance, Inc., 1945, p. 24, 25, 27 | |
