Pilates Mat Classes: Come *try* Pilates to balance the body, invigorate
the mind, and elevate the spirit!
Beginner Group Mat: Learn the basic 5 - 10 exercises with emphasis
on breath,
body positioning, and movement. Beginner mat is appropriate for all
fitness levels, as well as an important review for the more experienced.
Intermediate Group Mat: Be inspired by the challenge of a full
body workout! Develop the range of motion and core strength to accomplish
level I-III exercises. No previous experience is necessary, although
a beginner class or 1/2 hour focus private lesson is suggested.
Advanced Group Mat: Who says Pilates is not aerobic? Come feel
what Joseph Pilates referred to as the "internal shower" in
this vigorous and flowing series. Level IV-V mat exercises further develop
core muscles, increase flexibility and range of motion, introduce balance,
rotation, and engage the 'second powerhouse' of the upper back and arms.
If you enjoy a challenge, this class is for you!
Specialty Mat Classes: TriPilates offers special classes for Teens
and Tweens, pre-natal and post-natal women, and seniors. Please see
the website for updates on current classes. Piloga incorporates Yoga
asanas after a Pilates mat warm-up for new awareness, strength and energy.
Some of the mat classes will include Pilates props: balls, magic circles,
rollers, and light hand weights. Just like the equipment, props are
used to help us access the smaller muscles. "Pilates was conceived
to limber and stretch muscles and ligaments so that your body will be
as supple as that of a cat…" by "developing minor muscles
naturally to help to strengthen major muscles."*
Beginner Equipment:
Learn the exercises on the Reformer, Tower System, and the Low Chair.
Learn the beginning movements and safety considerations on all the
equipment so that you can quickly progress to the other group equipment
classes.

Reformer: Discover how the resistance of the springs and
the movement of the carriage targets core muscles, increases flexibility
and improves balance. Learn the full repertoire of Pilates movements
on the Reformer.
Group
Low Chair and Tower Class: Experience a workout system designed to
decompress your spine and strengthen your core. Because of the weight-bearing
nature of many of the Low Chair exercises, the program also stimulates
bone mineralization and helps to prevent osteoporosis! The Tower System
enables spinal articulation and flexibility in this fun and energizing
class.
Private Lessons: A private lesson is a
one-hour, one-on-one with a PMA Certified Instructor. New clients often
begin this way to ensure they understand the principles and concepts
set forth by Joseph Pilates. Private training moves you through the Pilates
repertoire based on your needs with focus on your personal goals. Special
introductory offer: buy 2 private lessons, get the 3rd one FREE.
1/2
Hour Focus Private Lesson: Learn the basics in a private environment,
or review your next challenge. This lesson will assess your goals and
emphasize principles of breathing, body positioning, and movement in
the Pilates mat routine. This is an excellent opportunity to get your
mind and body ready for the equipment or the next level of mat class.
